If you’re looking for a companion dog, the Boston Terrier should be a strong candidate. However, if you are looking to adopt and not shop, you might have to look for Boston Terrier rescues. The good news is that breed-specific rescue organizations exist, and they might be the best chance of adopting a Boston Terrier. Here are some of the best Boston Terrier rescue organizations in the US.
1. American Boston Terrier Rescue and Rehabilitation
Texas is home to some of the best shelters in the US, so it isn’t that surprising that they have one for this breed. The American Boston Terrier Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non-profit consisting of volunteers dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming the American Gentleman. These guys mainly focus on senior dogs and dogs with special needs. All their dogs get the necessary vet care, deworming medications, vaccinations, and microchips. They are located in Northern Texas, and if you’re close, feel free to drop them a visit.

2. Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington
The Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington is a charity institution whose goal is to save Boston Terriers. They cater to neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs, and they will never turn down a dog in need. Dogs in their care receive complete vet care. A great thing about these guys is that they work with other rescues and shelters, so even if they don’t have a dog for you, they might know someone who does.

3. Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina
Like the name of this organization says, they are from North Carolina. The Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina works in several States, despite what their name says and where they are located. They are dedicated to saving dogs that were neglected, abused, and abandoned. They examine the dogs and provide all the necessary vet care. Another great thing they do is assess the dog’s character and make sure they are matched with the best possible adopter. If you’re from one of the States we mentioned below, give them a call and see if they have a dog waiting for you.
States: Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, and South Carolina

4. Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue
If you’re somewhere from Midwest, getting in touch with the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue is probably a good idea. These guys save more than 200 dogs each year, and they started the Boston Terrier rescue mission over a decade ago. They will gladly take care of the dogs from other shelters or owners that have to surrender them. Plus, this organization holds educational programs regarding responsible dog ownership. They hope their effort will result in fewer abandoned or neglected dogs.
States: Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois

5. Boston Buddies
Boston Buddies was organized by another non-profit after noticing an alarming number of these dogs in dog shelters. They wanted to save all of the neglected Boston Terriers in their area, so they decided to work with different volunteers and foster families. Thanks to them, more than 2.000 Boston Terriers found new homes. A great advantage these guys have over other rescues is that they have in-house dog trainers. They prepare their dogs for new homes themselves, and that is why most of their adoptions are a success.

6. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue
MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue will rescue any dog that might need them. They don’t care if a dog is in bad physical or mental shape; their only goal is to find new, loving homes for dogs in need. They are pretty large, and they have volunteers from all over the US. All of the dogs in their care get spayed or neutered, and all potential physical problems are resolved before a dog is put up for adoption. They have recently expanded the area where they operate, and they now accept adopters from several different States.
States: Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, North and South Dakota, Missouri, Minnesota, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho, and midwest Arkansas

7. Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue
Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue is another rescue composed entirely of volunteers that love the breed. They don’t care where the dogs come from; they want to rehabilitate them and find them suitable homes with new families. Before they put dogs up for adoption, they make sure dogs get the necessary treatment (if it’s needed), get spayed or neutered, dewormed, and socialized in foster homes. To adopt one of their dogs, the potential adopter should get in touch with the dog’s foster family and meet them.
