Braque Francais Gascogne
Braque Francais is a medium-sized dog breed originating from France. This dog is separated into two different types: Gascogne and Pyrenean. These dogs share many similarities, and they differ only in a few characteristics.
Both types have elegant heads with short muzzles and eyes from yellow to brown in color. Their coat consists of a chestnut brown and is mostly speckled. Large and brown spots are common and can be found in any location of the body.
Pyrenean type is smaller and has finer fur, and their ears are not as long as those of the Gascogne type.
These dogs were originally used for hunting prey. Hunters mostly used these dogs for hunting woodcock. Braque Francais Gascogne has adapted to family life and can be great companions if you provide them with enough daily activities. However, these dogs are still rare outside their native land- France.
