Exercise

Working Kelpies are energetic and active dogs that will require proper daily exercise. Exercise can come in many different forms including long walks, hide and seek, playing inside, chasing ball, etc. If you provide them with enough activities you don’t have to worry that your dog will miss behave.

Socialization

To ensure that you end up with the best possible dog, early socialization is a must. Start socializing your Working Kelpie as soon as you bring him home. With proper socialization, you will ensure that your dog doesn't become shy or aggressive. Expose your Working Kelpie to many different dogs, people, sight, and sounds and that will teach him how to properly react in many different situations.

Working Kelpie and kids

Working Kelpie is an excellent choice for families with kids and they will be great playing partners for them. Take note that no matter how good your dog is you should never leave him alone with kids so any unwanted behavior wouldn't emerge.

Working Kelpie and other animals

Working Kelpie gets along with other dogs and enjoys their company. With proper socialization, you don't have to worry that your dog will become aggressive or wouldn't get along with other dogs. Working Kelpie can get along with other smaller animals in the house.

Health

Working Kelpies are generally healthy dogs but like most of the dog breeds in the world, they can suffer from some health problems. Those problems include:

  • Hip dysplasia
  • Elbow dysplasia

If you want to get a puppy with the best possible health you should never buy him from an irresponsible dog breeder. Official and responsible dog breeders regularly check their breeding dogs and they will not breed dogs if there is a possibility that the puppies will end up with inherited diseases.

Working Kelpie breeders

When getting a dog, the most important thing is to get it from a responsible and reputable Working Kelpie breeder. Responsible breeders will breed dogs that don’t only look good but have great characters as well. You must find a good Working Kelpie breeder that can help you learn about this breed and make an informed choice about getting a dog with these characteristics.

Buying a dog from a responsible breeder will cost you more money, but you can be sure that you will get a healthy puppy.
