Norrbottenspets
Norrbottenspets is an agile and fearless small dog breed with well-developed muscles. They belong to the spitz family used for hunting in the Northern parts of Sweden and Finland. They are fearless dogs with great agility that were used for holding large games such as moose.
Although they were used for hunting they can also be great family pets with the proper socialization.
Norrbottenspets dogs are still fairly rare outside Scandinavia and if you are interested in getting one of these dogs you must be prepared that you will have to wait for your puppy.

Grooming
Norrbottenspets are double-coated dogs with a hard and short topcoat and a dense undercoat. Regular brushing is a must with these dogs if you want to keep the hair under control.
Norrbottenspets coat colors:
- Pure white base color with a colored mask covering the sides of the head and the ears, with body patches
You will also have to check their ears regularly for any signs of infections (bad odor, redness, etc.). You can wipe their ears with a cotton ball dipped into an ear cleaner. Norrbottenspets teeth should be brushed weekly to remove tartar build-up and to secure fresh breath and healthy gums. Their nails should be trimmed when you hear their nails clicking on the floor.
Exercise
Norrbottenspets are an active breed that requires a lot of activities to be happy. They were bred for working purposes, and because of that, they are not the best fit for apartment living. They need a lot of space where they can wander around and spend their energy.
Socialization
To ensure that you end up with the best possible dog, early socialization is a must. Start socializing your Norrbottenspets as soon as you bring him home. With proper socialization, you will ensure that your dog doesn't become shy or aggressive.
