Grooming

Teddy Roosevelt Terriers have short hair that doesn’t require much care. Brushing once a week will be enough to keep the hair under control.

Teddy Roosevelt Terrier coat colors:

  • Any bi-color or tri-color

You will also have to check their ears regularly for any signs of infections (bad odor, redness, etc.). You can wipe their ears with a cotton ball dipped into an ear cleaner. Teddy Roosevelt Terrier teeth should be brushed weekly to remove tartar build-up and to secure fresh breath and healthy gums. When you hear their nails clicking on the floor, their nails should be trimmed.

Exercise

Teddy Roosevelt Terrier dogs are very active, and they will enjoy all fun daily activities. You can take them on long walks, play with them in the house or throw them ball outside – whatever you choose, your dog will enjoy and be happy. If their daily physical needs are met, you will have the most lovable dog with whom you will not have any problems.

Socialization

As with all other dogs, even Teddy Roosevelt Terrier requires proper and early socialization to trust your dog. With correct socialization, your dog will learn how it’s supposed to behave in many different situations he may find himself in. The socialization process starts when you bring your Teddy Roosevelt Terrier puppy home. Expose him to many different situations, people, dogs, and sounds.

Teddy Roosevelt Terrier and kids

As a pet, the Teddy Roosevelt Terrier can be wonderful. They get along great with all family members and love spending time with them. Especially they love kids, and they can be great playing partners for them.

No matter how good your dog is, you should never let them play without supervision, so any unwanted behavior would emerge (nipping, tail pulling, etc.)
