In the light of recent development regarding the Covid-19 situation and the rising numbers of infected people, we bring you the latest full statement from the Slovenian Kennel Club regarding Euro Dog Show 2020 - Slovenia.

In recent weeks and months, it seems as though Slovenia, Europe, and the World came to a halt. Historically, the board of the Slovenian Kennel Club has never been in such a difficult position, where hard decisions need to be taken.

Clearly, we have been in contact with the Slovenian authorities responsible for public health. Therefore, we abide by the directives given by the health care professionals, and civil protection representatives.

Given all this and the fact that epidemiologists predict a second wave of the pandemic, we came to the conclusion, that organizing such a large and important event with between 30.000-50.000 people is basically impossible. Furthermore, the restrictions include limitation of personal contacts, a distance of at least 6 feet (about 2 arm's length) between people, and the current unknown status of the big events in Slovenia and Europe. All this is a major restraint on us organizers. Notably, some eastern countries are right now only at the peak of the 1st wave of the pandemic. Therefore, traveling by air or land is very difficult, and some borders are still being closed.

Indeed, there is nothing that would bring us more pleasure, than numerous excellent exhibitors, good judges, and a target crowd of visitors to a successful European Dog Show. The pandemic has put us in front of a difficult decision, but our main goal is the health and well-being of exhibitors, judges, and visitors.

After careful consultation with our members of the Slovenian EDS committee and Board of Slovenian Kennel Club, we have made the difficult decision that European Dog Show 2020, scheduled for October 8-11 2020, can not be organized this year.

We all hope to get the opportunity to postpone EDS in Slovenia in the near future.

Concerning the refund, your money will be fully refunded. The refund will be done on your original payment method. This will be processed at least next week. You will receive a confirmation when the refund is made.
