The Artois Hound is a rare dog breed, and a descendant of the Bloodhound. This breed was formerly named Picard, much appreciated in ancient hunting at the time of Henry IV of France and Louis XIII of France, and was a very desirable breed to have. It is believed that its origins are in northern France, close to the Channel.
