Porcelaine

Porcelaine is an energetic and powerful hunting dog breed originating from France. These dogs were used for small game hunting. They are great family dogs that will get along with everybody especially kids. They are easily trained and first-time owners should have problems with Porcelaine.

Porcelaine has a character that makes these dogs great for search and rescue, medical therapy, and services. However, they are first hunting dogs and they have a high prey drive so you must be careful around smaller animals.

Grooming

Porcelaine has a smooth and thin coat that can come in white, with orange spots. Regular brushing will be enough for these dogs to look good.

The rest is basic care; trim their nails when needed (if they don't wear them down naturally), brush their teeth weekly to prevent tartar buildup and bacteria development. Regularly check their ears for any sign of redness or a bad odor that can indicate an infection. You can wipe their ears with the cotton ball dipped into an ear cleaner. The key for your dog to get used to all things mentioned above is to start early with them. Make a positive experience for the dog, full of praises and rewards, and you can be sure that your dog will enjoy all these things when they grow up.

Exercise

Porcelaine dogs are highly active and you must be prepared that you will have to spend a lot of time outside if you want your dog to be happy. These dogs will enjoy various fun activities including chasing, hide and seek, returning the ball, etc. If you meet their needs you can be sure that your dog will be well behaved in the house and you don't have to worry that he will develop behavior problems.

Personality

If you are looking for a hunting dog, the Porcelaine might be one of the strongest candidates. These dogs have performed numerous hunting tasks over the years, and they have excelled at all of them. If you are looking for an active family pet, these dogs will have some requirements. They will need an active owner that takes them regularly for hiking adventures, running, or playing in the park. They have endless energy and can run and play all day. However, if these requirements are not met, the Porcelaine can become problematic.

These dogs can be great playing partners for kids, especially if they grew up together. They are not the best choice for households with smaller pets like cats, guinea pigs, or ferrets. These dogs can get along well with other dogs and can enjoy their company.

Health

Porcelaine is a healthy dog breed with a life expectancy of 12-13 years. To be sure that you will end up with the best possible dog regarding health always buy him from responsible and official dog breeders. Because they regularly test their breeding dogs you can be sure that their puppies won’t have any inherited diseases.  Always ask to see the results of tests from the puppy’s parents.

Porcelaine breeders

When getting a dog, the most important thing is to get it from a responsible and reputable Porcelaine breeder.
