Grooming

Hygen Hound has a thick, shiny coat that requires only weekly brushing to keep the dog looking good.

Hygen Hound coat colors:

• Red-brown or yellow red
• Black and tan
• White with red-brown or yellow-red patches

Since these dogs have droopy ears, you should be careful and check them regularly. They are prone to developing ear infections, and because of that, weekly check their ears for any signs of infections – bad odor, redness, wax build-up, etc.

With these dogs, the rest is basic care. Trim their nails if the dog doesn’t wear them out naturally, bathe them a few times a year, and brush their teeth so they secure fresh breath and healthy gums.

Exercise

Hygen Hounds are highly active dogs, and you will have to provide them with many daily activities. Long walks in the woods, hiking, and playing with balls can all do the trick to keep your dog happy and healthy. Hygen Hound is not a very easy dog to train. They can be stubborn, and you must be very consistent with training. You must be firm and consistent, and you can be sure that your dog will listen to you.

Socialization

Early socialization is a must to ensure that you end up with the best possible dog. Start socializing your Hygen Hound as soon as you bring him home. With proper socialization, you will ensure that your dog doesn't become shy or aggressive. Expose your Hygen Hound to many different dogs, people, sights, and sounds, and that will teach him how to properly react in many different situations.

Hygen Hound and kids

As a pet, the Hygen Hound can be wonderful. They get along great with all family members and love spending time with them. They especially love kids, and they can be great playing partners for them.

No matter how good your dog is you should never let them play without supervision, so any unwanted behavior would emerge (nipping, tail pulling, etc.)

Hygen Hound and other animals

Hygen Hound gets along with other dogs and enjoys their company. With proper socialization, you don't have to worry that your dog will become aggressive or not get along with other dogs. They are not suited for living with other smaller animals because of their high prey drive they will immediately chase all smaller animals.

Health

Hygen Hounds are generally healthy dogs, but like most dog breeds in the world, they can suffer from some health problems. Those problems include:

• Hip dysplasia
• Bloat
• Ear infections

If you want to get a puppy with the best possible health, you should never buy him from an irresponsible dog breeder.
