The Chow Chow (sometimes simply Chow) is a breed of dog originally from the northern part of China, where it is called Songshi Quan, which means "puffy-lion dog". The Chow Chow is an ancient dog breed and it is unclear at what time the breed came to existence. It was either in China around 2000 years ago or in Arctic part of Asia 3000 years ago. This breed is very popular today due to its resemblance to the modern day teddy bear toys.
