The Alpine Dachsbracke (ger. Alpenländische Dachsbracke) is of a smaller, scent hound type dog breeds originating from Austria. The Alpine Dachsbracke was originally bred to track wounded animals such as boar, hare, deer, and fox. It is highly effective in following trail even after it has gone cold. The Alpine Dachsbracke is very sturdy, and it is said that Austria is the country of origin.
