The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is a relatively new breed of dog that traces its original lineage to an experiment conducted in 1955 in Czechoslovakia. The first plan was to breed German Shepherd Dogs with Carpathian wolves, and the idea behind that was to create a breed that would have the temperament, pack mentality, and trainability of the German Shepherd Dog and the strength, physical build and stamina of the Carpathian wolf. It was later used by the special forces for their actions, as a search and rescue dog, military, police and utility dog.
