Shikoku
Letzte Aktualisierung: Aug 31 2023
The Shikoku is a native, primitive Japanese breed of dog from Shikoku island and is similar to a Shiba Inu. The Shikoku is one of the six native Japanese breeds and it is intermediate between Shiba Inu and Akita Inu. They were bred mainly for hunting deer and boar in the mountainous districts of Kochi Prefecture. These dogs are cautious and loyal to their master. They are ideal companions for outdoor active people because of their energetic nature. The Shikoku is very intelligent breed, not as stubborn and independent as the other native Japanese breeds, and they’re quick learners.
