Letzte Aktualisierung: Aug 31 2023
The Spanish mastiff is a giant breed of dog, originating in Spain. It appeared on the Iberian Peninsula before the Roman invasion, brought by the Greeks and Phoenicians. Originally it was bred to be a guard dog whose specialized purpose is to be a livestock guardian dog protecting flocks and herds from wolves and other predators. It is assumed that molossers already existed in the Neolithic in Central Europe. This breed is very intelligent and is capable of making its own decisions. They are loyal and very protective of their family if necessary.
