Cane Corso Italiano

The Cane Corso from Italian cane (dog) and "corso" from the Latin "Cohors" meaning "protector", also known as the Italian Mastiff, is a large Italian dog breed that is extremely valued for years in Italy as a companion and guard dog. This breed has a negative reputation because of its appearance and the popular belief that it is used as a fighting dog. Today they are mostly employed as police and military dogs, as well as guardians of livestock.
