Cairn Terrier

The Cairn Terrier is known to be one of the oldest dog breeds in the terrier family, originating in the Scottish Highlands and recognized as one of Scotland's first working dogs. The breed was given the name Cairn, because the breed's function was to hunt and chase quarry between the cairns in the Scottish highlands. They have a great scent and were mostly used to hunt vermin, especially rats.
