The Austrian Black and Tan Hound is a dog breed whose origins are from Austria. It is believed that it is a direct descendant of the original Celtic Hound even though there is no official history of the Austrian Hound before the second part of the 19th century. This particular, medium sized dog breed was mostly used for tracking wounded animals, mostly hare in very high region of the Austrian Alps.
