Bluthund
Letzte Aktualisierung: Aug 31 2023
The Bloodhound is a large scent hound, originally used for hunting wild animals, since the Middle Age time and for tracking people. Believed to be a direct descendant from hounds once kept by the Abbey of Saint-Hubert, Belgium, it is known in French speaking countries as the Chien de Saint-Hubert which translates to “The dog of Saint hubert”. This breed is best known for its ability to discern human scent over great distances, even days later and it is used by the law enforcement to track escaped prisoners, missing persons and lost pets.
