Australischer Schaferhund
The Australian Shepherd, oftenly called "Aussie", is a medium-sized dog breed that was, contrary to its name, bred on ranches in the Western part of the United States sometime in the 19th century. For many years, Aussies have been praised and wanted by stockmen for their adaptability and trainability. They are very much alike in appearance to the popular English Shepherd and Border Collie breeds, and researchers have found that Australian Shepherds and Border Collies are closely related to each other; both the Border Collie and Australian Shepherd are slightly more distantly related to other kinds of Collies and to Shetland Sheepdogs.
